So this is my Christmas Polka Dot tutorial. Hopefully this is easy to follow and understand. Ok so lets get started! :) Ok so here is what I used/what you'll need for this tutorial. Also don't forget the nails polish remover in case you mess up and cotton balls.
Just FYI in case your looking to purchase dotting tool or nail brushes you can find them on amazon.com for pretty cheaper if not the end of a pin needle works pretty good for the dots and so do tooth picks. I also used the tooth pick to clean up around the edges. The nail polishes that I use are you usually no more than $2 so total I probably spent like maybe $12 on everything not including the dotting tools or nail art brushes (the brushes were a gift dotting tools I bought myself).
Ok so first I always start off with removing any old nail polish or dirt on my nails. Even if you don't have any polish on take some nail polish remover and clean your nails. Give yourself a good manicure ending in a base coat.
While Your waiting for your base coat to completely dry you can make that lovely green your going to need for your ring finger. But of course if you already have a green you like than use that I just wasn't happy with mine so I made this one and this how I did it. I mixed a shimmery light green I already had with the neon green nail art paint and that one drop of that deep blue (anymore than one drop you'll end up with like a teal or something lol!).
Still with me? Good, now we're going to apply the binder paper ring menders. You place them where you want the tip of your nail to begin. Once you have those in place you start painting all your nails the sparkly red leaving your ring finger free for the green.
Once you have finished painting all your tips and they are dry, you can start dotting your nails. the way I did is I started with all my red nails only putting white and green dots on the nails with the red tips. Once those are finished do the same with the green tips only making the dots red and white. I did various dots ranging from big to little dots.
Once your all done clean up your edges with a little nail polish remover and a cotton ball, apply your top coat and let dry and viol! your done and you have polka dot Christmas nails!! :) Hope this wasn't confusing.
