Lets Play Catch Up Mon-Thursday

LETS PLAY CATCH UP: MON-THURS

So I have been insanely busy this week. I have decided to become a Premier Designs Jewelry Lady! Exciting right?! I know I'm stoked but it is an overwhelming amount of stress and getting organized. Shockingly enough my husband is completely on board with this and is offering a whole bunch of ideas on how to go about it. Its weird because he didn't even show this much interest in me doing Mary Kay but hey I take it no complaints here :) Now unfortunately I only came up with one actual manicure and that was for Monday but I will post links for some ideas for the rest as well as links for Wednesday. I am just realizing I didn't to Thursday's post last week or Friday's so I have decided to go up to Thursday and if anything catches my attention over the weekend I will definitely let you all know. :) Now down to business; here comes Monday's post.

MANICURE MONDAY!!
I went a little polish crazy over the weekend and spent around $10 on maybe 6 bottles of polish! Here is what I came up with I hope you like it! :)

TUESDAY
Here is an idea for a Summer inspired manicure. I am going to make time to try this one next week and post how it turned out. I found this on Pinterest and naturally when I clicked on the link the picture was no wear to be found. But I am a firm believer in giving credit to the person that came up with the manicure, so you can find her on instagram at @adelislebron.

WEDNESDAY
Your health is so important. I can not stress that enough! To take care of your body and to make sure what your putting into it is good for you. This is setting a good example for your kids to follow. Or if you don't have kids yet or you just don't plan on having kids to keep you around a little longer take care of your body for your loved ones. With that being I'll taking on 21 Day Fix and after that doing P90X. So I will be flooding the Wednesday post with my progress and before and after pics :)

THURSDAY
I found a really neat tutorial to do 3D Acrylic Flowers but before I give you the link I'm going to try it out and let you know how it goes. I will also do the same with the summer Manicure I posted because I like it lol! So stay tuned for a post later today or tomorrow. Hope you all have a great day! :)

Health & Wellness Wednesday!!

Health & Wellness Wednesday!

I wanted to clarify a little bit on what these posts will be about. I thought it was pretty self-explanatory but I thought I would further explain it.
These post will cover things such as
  1. General Health (mine and yours) because you matter. This will also include exercises that simple, fast and easy to do but will range from beginner to intermediate exercises.
  2. Making sure your mind body and soul is also being taken care of because these parts of your body matter just like your whole body.
  3. Household & family care. Meaning anything I find helpful to care for myself and my family and that I think you could benefit from.
  4. And last but not least, hand, nail, foot and toenail care.
It is so VERY IMPORTANT to take care of every single part of your body. It keeps you going and you happy and healthy. Will also help you live a long happy life.
I will do my best to touch base on each of these subjects in a day (if can). If not there will be at least one post about one of these, because they all matter to me very much.

So now that I broken down what the the Health & Wellness posts will be about I have a topic I would like to talk about and what I think would be helpful to most people.
My first topic is the stain of nail polish. Now I can't be the only person, nail technician or whatever that has had the problem. You go to remove that beautiful red (any other color polish) from your nails only to find that it has stained your nails and your around your fingers (ugh!). Worst nightmare ever! Luckily I have found a solution to this god awful problem; and here it is. You'll need some baking soda and dish soap (I used Dawn but whatever you have on hand should work fine) follow these instructions:

  • Once you have removed all the polish from nails, you will next want to remove as much of the staining possible (going over your nails your polish remover and a clean cotton ball)
  • Now pour a little less than a handful of baking soda into the palm of you hand, add in some dawn and rub vigorously paying special attention to your nails and fingers.
  • Rinse under warm water and the staining should be gone.
*I also used sugar to give a little scrub and also to make my skin a little softer but that is up to you*
**I have also used this same trick to remove stains out of clothes. Only washing your clothes first and then treat said stain and rewash said clothes. But I'm sure this method works as a great pre-treat.**

Now this worked for me that does not mean it will work for everyone. So please if you try it let me know how it worked for you and if you have any other tricks on how to remove the staining of nail polish.

This post is going to be a bit long since I forgot to post yesterday's Teal Mani and I also have info I want to share with you. I did end up giving my daughter the manicure and she loved it but fell asleep half way through it so I wasn't able to put polish on her nails until this morning. Hopefully it lasts (she pretty rough with her hands). Her brother picked out the colors for with the exception of the Teal color. Here is the list of colors I used and the finish product enjoy!! :)

Beauty Secrets Base Coat
Pure ICE: Scream (Teal background)
Pure ICE: Watch Me Go (the glitter in the middle)
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear: Violet Voltage (purple line on either side of the glitter)

LATE POST: Young Nails-Nail Mail!!! Ahhhhh!!!

LATE POST: Young Nails-Nail Mail

I absolutely love nail mail! its is the best thing to get and I was lucky enough to get it awhile back I just didn't get a chance to post about. When I was in school we were given a kit to work with CND which is a great product but I was looking for something different and needing to refill my stock of acrylic, monomer and needed a new nail brush. So my husband bought me a acrylic nail kit and some extra glitter goodies to go with it. I got to work with this product that weekend and I absolutely love it!

The only thing I don't like is that the UPS person took all day to get to me and it was hot that day; anyone that knows about monomers and acrylics (and how hot it gets in Texas) knows that if you leave products in the heat for too long it can compromise the integrity of the products. But as far as I have noticed it hasn't done anything to the products. Anyways, keep yours peeled for more pics of my work with Young Nails. Have great night everyone!!

Mint Monday Mani

So here its is I hope you all like and please leave any comments or suggestions on how to improve my Ombre. Obviously I need practice but for my second or third try I think its pretty good. I used a mint green that I made myself and the teal called Scream by Pure ICE.

For tomorrow's post I'll be using my daughter as my model. I know doesn't give me much to work with but she is the only model I can seem to get my hands. So her lovely little hands will be sporting a teal tomorrow :) and she always loves getting her nails done treat for her and practice for me yay!!

It's Been Awhile

It's been way too long since I have posted anything so here's what's going on my end. I have been insanely busy with the usual but have also had family emergencies as well. But lets start from where I left off.
So the last thing I had posted I had finished school and I was waiting to take my written and practical. Well I am pleased to say that I took my written and practical and passed both!!! So I am now a licensed Manicurist for the State of Texas!! Exciting right?! I am so happy and proud of myself. Not only have I made a dream come true for myself but I am also showing my kids that you are never too old to go back school and it is the most important thing to follow your dreams and if you keep trying and don't give up they do come true.
Unfortunately bad follows the good and I lost my beloved Grandmother before I was finished with school. Still very heart broken, but I know that she would be very proud of me. After I got home from dealing with everything with my Grandma I started looking for job. But I am so unfamiliar with El Paso that I got lost to several meet ups with salons.......I know I know I really gotta work on getting used to it here. As if that wasn't enough babysitters are unbelievably expensive here and I really don't want to dish out the $100+ to pay someone to watch my kids so I can work. So job hunting has been put on hold.
But if that wasn't enough I had gotten news my loving father had a heart attack, and 90% of his heart isn't working. I thought I had lost my Dad and immediately my husband requested to take leave so we could go down there and see him. (I love my husband so caring) And if that wasn't enough I got news yesterday that my aunt also had a heart attack (while she was in Hawaii on her vacation)and the bottom part of her heart isn't working and she is going to need a pacemaker.

So trying to get my mind off all the bad going on in my life and focus on the good so from now on to keep my skills fresh and give me something to do during the day I have come up with a schedule which will look something like this:

  • Mani Monday- this will be for now mint color manicure I got this idea from an amazing ail art lady Robin Moses
  • Teal Mani Tuesday- This will just be a teal manicure
  • Wednesday Wellness- I have been trying to focus on taking better care of my body so I will share with you how to take care of your nails (this will be followed with links to any websites I get info from)
  • Thursday Nail Art- I need mega amounts of practice on my nail art so I will be posting techniques that work for me and those for beginners and any nail art I create on my own.
  • Friday 3D Nail Art- this is the hardest thing for me to do as a Nail Technician 3D nail art is not easy so I will share with you anything I find that should be easy for someone just starting out to do along with websites to get the best brushes what works best for me and anything else I find useful. :)
I know this going to be fun and it will defnitely give me something to do during the day. I will also share with you all anything my family and I do during the weekend or anything else fun and exciting going on in my life. Hopefully you all are having a fantastic day see you next Monday with Mint Mani to start with :)
